I believe planning a wedding can be one of the most exciting as well as stressful times in one’s life! That’s one of the reasons I absolutely endorse destination weddings. Its stress free, yes …I said stress free! They are generally much less expensive, and they can be made to be as elaborate or as simple as you want it to be!
These days many couples have already lived together, have children, or it may be the second time around for one or both of them. Whatever the reason, it can be (and normally is) much less expensive than the traditional wedding will ever be!
With a destination wedding, not only are you taking care of the wedding and honeymoon at the same time, but it’s also a great way for family and friends to interact, get to know one another, enjoy a vacation, and celebrate on behalf of the happy couple!
Most Destination Weddings are typically in the Caribbean on a beautiful island, and more often than not at an all-inclusive resort. These resorts are great choices for destination weddings because of all the included amenities such as meals, snacks, 24-hr room service, sunrise to sunset entertainment, and activities for all ages. Packages can be arranged to include non-stop charter air as well. Once at the resort, there are so many options that it’s easy to spend time with friends and family, or spend some quiet time for just the two of you.
The hardest part of a Destination Wedding is choosing the resort! There are so many amazing places to choose from, and most of them will offer amazing honeymoon packages (depending upon length of stay and room category), as well as a complimentary room for the bride and groom. There is a wedding coordinator from the resort assigned to each bride, however, I will always be there as your guide throughout this process.
Destination wedding packages at these resorts can range from a simple ceremony with a toast to a full-blown beach wedding with bridesmaids, formal cocktail hour, sit down gourmet dinner with open bar, and dancing under the stars to either a DJ or a live band.
A good timeline to begin planning Destination Weddings is approximately 11-12 months out from the actual wedding date. I am there to help with my expertise and knowledge to choose the resort that best fits your vision as well as your budget. Once a location is chosen, I will take the reins and move forward by creating the packages (land only or land-air inclusive) as well as itinerary options for your family and friends. Once you send the invites that include my contact information, you’re done! All guests will contact me directly to book and address any questions or concerns they may have pertaining to travel.
I have been on the client side as well when both of my daughters had amazing destination weddings, and bring intimate knowledge regarding the concerns and needs of both the agent and client involved in a destination wedding!
